This was a highlight of our trip to Washington DC. Our bus driver/guide was very knowledgeable and told us many interesting historical facts along the way. Monticello and the University were magnificent! It is amazing how ingenious they were back then. Our lunch stop was very good and historical as well.

tour was very easy to book on-line; there were no problems in redeeming the voucher; the trip up the Potomac was wonderful!! - - definitely worth the cost!!

Janet S., 840, 07-2008

On the whole, the experience was very pleasant. The boat crew/staff were as helpful as could be and very considerate towards my mother who has difficulty walking for very long. Would have loved to know that wheelchairs were available upon disembarking at Mt.Vernon.

Rosanna S., 840, 07-2008

It would have been nice to have walked off the boat at the end of the tour and found cabs waiting. There were at least 4 groups seeking cabs the day we went on the tour. I have a mild disability which makes walking difficult. Otherwise it was a good tour.

Lorna S., 840, 06-2008

We had a very cold and rainy day, but the crew still made us comfortable.

Diane O., 840, 05-2008

This was a nice tour, very easy to find, friendly staff, and they were on time!!!

Alexandra P., 840, 04-2008

This was a totally pleasant cruise to Mount Vernon with points of interest noted by the tour guide. When we arrived at Mt. Vernon, we were on our own and able to tour the compound at our leisure. Food was available across the compound for lunch.

Kathleen S., 840, 08-2007

Awesome

This tour can be fun for young and old alike. My daughter, niece and nephew had fun getting in the water and the LOVED the quackers. My parents and I enjoyed learning about Baltimore history. I learned so much about the city that we've decided to come back and spend more time touring Baltimore! The Ducks are a lot of fun!

Cecily P., 840, 08-2008

A fun tour for families.

Susan B., 840, 08-2008

Capt. Dave was in charge of us and did a wonderful job...I would reccommend this tour and this Captain to any and all who ask me.

Tess B., 840, 07-2008

An informative and fun way to learn about the city of Baltimore.

Patricia T., 840, 10-2007

My sister came down for the weekend, and we decided to take this tour. We learned a lot of history about the city and she had a blast on the Duck. Also, all of the other customers on our ride seemed to really be enjoying themselves! I will recommend this to friends and family!

Craig B., 840, 08-2007

I've taken this tour with out-of-town guests three times. Twice the guide was terrific; once he was just okay.

Since it was summer in Washington DC, we sat below in the air conditioned section, but while we were comfortable, it was difficult to see the attractions -- suggest sitting on top deck, weather permitting, would be better for visability.

Myra C., 840, 08-2008

Tour bus was very helpful - kept us off the roads in Washington DC - that was priceless!!

Carrie G., 840, 07-2008

A good way to see the city.

William C., 840, 07-2008

The tour covers all highlights for Washington DC.

Sandra H., 840, 07-2008

This tour is good if you want to just ride the bus and see the city. The tour information is on a recording so sometimes you just tune it out. In the summer time, it is extremely hot to sit upstairs. Overall it was an average tour. The downside to this tour is that it is difficult to find the stops for the bus if you didn't get on at the location where you last got off the bus. I looked on line and on the brochure to find the cross streets where the bus would stop and it's not very clear. For example, it would just say National Archives etc. It does not tell you it's on an avenue two blocks from the Archives. Furthermore, due to DC traffic, the bus is not on time. It was half and hour late at the National Cathedral and 15 minutes early at the Capitol Building. Another downside is that you have to ride the whole loop to get to the next destination you want to see. You have to ride through the several stops which can be up to 40 minutes in and out of traffic lights.

Dori S., 840, 07-2008

The buses go to all the major sights in DC. We really got to know the city and see a lot of sights without driving in the wicked traffic! The buses were clean and the lower level was air conditioned!! Great for July. We would definitely use this tour group again. Great deal!

Shanna S., 840, 07-2008

I would highly recommend.

Jill L., 840, 07-2008

Everyone was very nice and professional. Tours are awesome and very informative and the buses are brand new with air conditioning which I found was not offered with other company tours. The price is also the best. People prefer the upper deck and while in DC watch out for the trees which need to be cut because they will hit you in the face. The city should cut these down. Overall, I rate this THE BEST TOUR IN TOWN.

Teresa G., 840, 07-2008

Hop on hop off is an easy way to get a quick lay of the land so you can set an itinerary for the rest of your visit, our experience was cut very short by fourth of July activities in D.C. due to security. This was beyond the control of the operator no doubt, however they failed to advertise this to anyone who purchased a tour for that day. Also beware of the top level seats, many tree branches stick out into the street right at head height, listen to the warnings if your sitting on the curb side.

Erik P., 840, 07-2008

Would only recommend it if people had lots and lots of time.

Tammie D., 840, 07-2008

I really enjoyed this tour.

Steven P., 840, 07-2008

I was just in DC for one day so this gave me a great way to see the main tourist attractions in a short time. It was a good way to go and I will do it again.

Cherry K., 840, 06-2008

This was a good tour

Karen G., 840, 06-2008

It was great.Didn't have to drive our car at all in D.C.. All the sites that were on the list were very important to see.The tour was two days long, enough time to see everything.

Lee B., 840, 06-2008

The pick up points on the map were unclear, causing us to miss several pick up points because the picture of the bus on the map showed an area, not a specific address. It's wasn't until day 2 that another customer, told us to look for the signs on the street.

Kasee K., 840, 06-2008

Mores buses please!

RENEE D., 840, 06-2008

the recorded tour wasn't working the first time we rode the bus, the guide did a personal tour which was incredible. I can't remember his name but he was from Mexico originally. He was extremely knowledgeable and funny.

ginger d., 840, 06-2008

It was a great tour discovering the whole area. The bus was clean.

Was very well set up and usable

Virgil S., 840, 03-2008

A great tour that takes you to see the important landmarks.

Adrianne G., 840, 02-2008

Ticketing personnel were neither friendly or a great deal of help, but the drivers and guides were very helpful and pleasant. The online itinerary should reflect the correct stops and the correct available number of stops currently being made.

Julie B., 840, 11-2007

The tour in Washington DC fills a void (less walking, above ground) to see sights that the Metro rail system does not. It's a great niche that we will plan to utilize again.

Brian S., 840, 10-2007

Your web site should have a clearer instruction of how to park at Union Station. There is only one small "parking" sign at is very hard to see. You should say to go across the front of Union Station and then turn on ramp at far end by glass building section to get to parking. We were not the only customers who had to circle Union Station more than once to figure this out. Simply saying to park at Union Station is NOT complete enough. Otherwise, the tour was great. Maybe you could have 2 routes - one the full 25 stops and a shorter route that just stays in Washington route 1 to 6 and then 20 to 25 so that people do not have to take the full long loop each time.

Susanne M., 840, 10-2007

This was a fun tour overall.

Diana D., 840, 08-2007

If you are spending a couple of days in Washington, then this tour is a great way to get round and see all the sites. Shopping in Greenwich Village was excellent. Unfortunately our hotel was a fair walk to the nearest pick up point.

Chris E., 826, 08-2007

WE ALL HAD ALOT OF FUN, AND WE LOVED THE OPEN TOP BUS.

Ketra D., 840, 08-2008

MY entire party enjoyed the tour. Eric our guide was alot of fun. Bring water and snacks and get a nap so that the youngewst arent' tired. We had a three year old with us and she loved it.

Elizabeth P., 840, 06-2008

The tour was as advertised. We have lived in DC for over two decades and have visited most of the sites but this gave us a different perspective. Our tour guide (Eric) was super and most courteous. We would take our visitors on this tour.

Byron S., 840, 06-2008

The tour was well executed from a clean new bus with a very capable driver.

Pete K., 840, 06-2008

Overall the monuments were great. The tour operator was very knowledgeable but very curt & dismissive with the customers on the bus, and spoke numerous times in an annoyed and condescending manner. It definitely put a damper on the whole experience.

Lisa C., 124, 04-2008

good tour

Jason K., 840, 04-2008

Aimee D., 840, 10-2007

We stopped and stayed at all major points of interest. The tour guide(h. w. - i believe) was very informed , knowledgeable, professional and polite. He helped make the tour a big success.

Linda F., 840, 10-2007

Janet S., 840, 10-2007

Good value. Visited and/or saw large number of sites/monuments, and it was magical by night.

Jan L., 840, 10-2007

Surprised how much walking was involved because of new security restrictions. I would not have enjoyed the tour much at all if it hadn't introduced me to the wonderful Franklin D. Roosevelt memorial. Thank you for that!

Christine M., 840, 09-2007

I would thoroughly recommend this tour. The city was beautiful at night and there were ample stops. We thought we may be sitting on the bus a lot but we were off the bus more. I would however suggest either eating before you go or taking snacks with you as there is not really any opportunity to buy food.

Gillian C., 840, 09-2007

We took the tour with my 84 year old parents to show them around DC. The tour guide was very helpful and extremely informative. He pointed out sites throughout the tour, giving history and details on buildings, statues, parks and monuments. His presentation was always interesting, sometimes humorous, always enjoyable. I've lived here all my life and still learned quite a bit from this tour. My parents really enjoyed it too. The stops at the monuments provided plenty of time for even a slower group like ours to look around. This tour is very comfortable, informative and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Cheri W., 840, 09-2007

Excellent lots of good and new information

abigail r., 840, 08-2007

This is actually the SECOND time we have taken this tour! My son and I took the tour three years ago. When we had an occasion to go back to Washington DC this time my daughter came with us. We thought the tour was so good, we took it again. We think its the best way to see as many attractions as possible in the short amount of time we are given.

Suzanne M., 840, 08-2007

The overall tour was good however, the tour guide was a little bit hard to understand and it was hard to hear what he was saying. I generally expect the person speaking on a tour to be clear and easily heard and understood. The guide was very amusing when we could figure out what he was saying.

Janette G., 840, 08-2007

Easy online reservations - AND easy to reach by phone for last minute questions. Reliable service. Courteous. Would recommend. 'DC by night' tour is really a must!

Brenda J., 840, 04-2007

Our tour director was extraordinary. He has lived in Washington D.C. all his life and it showed.

Faye M., 840, 04-2007

I found this to be a more than delightful tour and experience. The idea of seeing all of the famous monuments all lit up at night was appealing but I did not expect it to be such a great educational and visual experience. The tour guide (I can't remember his name anymore) was exceptional! He was full of information and stories about each monument that gave a wonderfully personal presentation with tons of historical value. My Nine year daughter took the tour with me and learned more about our past presidents in those 3 hours than she's learned in 5 years of school! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. (I've already told a handful of friends to check it out!). Overall this was the highlight of our trip to D.C.

It was my first time to US as well as to Washington DC. I made a right choice by joining the tour to Alexandria and mansion of George Washington. I had trouble with the meeting time that day but the officer in the Tour office was so helpful. I love it and will join another tour of Tour Corp. when I and my family come there next time.
